Hey, guys!
After hitting 1000 followers on Instagram the other night (woo-hoo!) I decided to celebrate by trying out the porter “Sweet Baby Jesus!”
It was a long day, I had worked all day and then worked out afterwards. I did some lunges and my legs felt like useless Jell-O blobs. Adulting can be hard sometimes, am I right? You spend all day trying to make a living, then you have to come home and tend to the housework, maybe cook dinner, take care of your well-being… I never signed up for that sh-t. AND, if you have kids–LOL what time do you have for anything?
One of my favorite ways to unwind is to just relax and drink a beer. De-stress. Not care about anything. And maybe sit on the couch and eat half my weight in Cheetos to undo the entire work out I just did.
Anyway, here’s my two cents:
SWEET BABY JESUS WHAT KIND OF HOLY BUBBLY REESE’S PEANUT BUTTER CUP DRINK DID I JUST HAVE THE PLEASURE TO CARESS MY TASTEBUDS AND REVIVE MY SOUL?! Where has this beloved beverage been all my life? I don’t drink porters too often because they are so heavy, but I do enjoy them once in a while when I am channeling my inner hipster. I will DEFINITELY be consuming this again.
This is a peanut-butter flavored porter with just a touch of chocolate and robust, strong flavor. You can’t really taste the hops too much, but it balances perfectly with the chocolatey, peanut buttery taste. Also, it is 6.2%, so this is dangerously divine… 😉
Overall, I recommend this if you’re into porters. The name is also very fitting.
I WILL say this though: just like with IPAs, porters are something you have to ease into. And this is not for the faint of heart. Craft beers come with an acquired taste. If you were to just take a swig of this, you’d probably choke, fall down some stairs, and die. Then Sweet Baby Jesus Himself will have to help you follow the light into those golden gates.
That’s all I have for today! If you don’t already, follow me on Instagram (BlondeBrewReviews) and Untappd (same username). I post interesting things and I also post pictures of my face, sometimes.
Cheers!
